This page explains what happens to information when you use theleadershipstar.com. It describes the services actually connected to this site, rather than generic possibilities.

This website supports The Leadership Star by Brian Hartzer. Enquiries, including privacy enquiries, can be sent to the contact form.

Sample chapter and email sign-up. If you request the sample chapter, we collect the name and email address you enter. This is handled by Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.), which stores your details on its servers and sends the emails. You can unsubscribe using the link in any email, which removes you from the list.

Organisational and bulk book enquiries. If you send an enquiry about books for a team, we collect what you provide — typically your name, organisation, email address, quantity, delivery country and timing — so we can respond with options. Enquiries are sent to and handled by Brian Hartzer’s office. They are used to answer your enquiry and are not sold or used for unrelated marketing.

Speaking and media enquiries. Handled the same way, by email.

Virtual Brian is provided by Chatbase. When you open it and type a message, that message is sent to Chatbase’s service, which generates the response. Those conversations are processed on Chatbase’s systems under their terms and privacy policy, not on this website.

Please do not enter confidential information, personal details about identifiable colleagues, or anything you would not want processed by a third-party service. AI responses can be wrong, and Virtual Brian is not a substitute for professional advice or your organisation’s own policies.

This site uses Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand how the site is used — which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from, and which links are clicked. This involves cookies and the collection of technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type.

Google AdSense tags are also present on the site. You can control Google’s use of advertising cookies through Google My Ad Center, and manage cookies generally through your browser settings.

The site is hosted on GoDaddy’s managed WordPress platform and served through Cloudflare, which acts as a content delivery network and processes requests, including IP addresses, in order to deliver pages and mitigate attacks. Wordfence provides security monitoring and may log IP addresses and request details to identify malicious activity.

Book pages link to external retailers such as Amazon, Booktopia, Dymocks, Angus & Robertson, QBD, Readings, Waterstones, Barnes & Noble, Audible and Apple Books. Once you follow one of those links you are on that retailer’s site, subject to their privacy policy and terms. We do not receive your payment details.

Affiliate disclosure. Some retailer links are affiliate links, which means a commission may be earned on a purchase made after following them, at no additional cost to you. This does not affect the price you pay or which retailers are listed.

Email subscribers are kept until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed. Enquiry correspondence is kept as long as needed to deal with the enquiry and for ordinary business record-keeping. Analytics and security data are kept according to the retention settings of the services described above.

You can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in any email. You can ask what information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, by emailing the contact form. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local privacy or data protection law.
